Jerome R. Rynning's Obituary
Jerome R. Rynning was born on October 22, 1935 in Richardton, North Dakota to Arnold & Lavina Walker Rynning.
He died at a Portland hospital on June 28, 2011 at the age of 75.
Jerome grew up on a farm in North Dakota helping his parents. He went on to work at a garage in Underwood, the Chevrolet Garage in Killdeer and the Ford Garage in Dickinson, then drove gravel truck for Fishers Sand & Gravel in N.D., S.D. and Montana.
He married Sharon G. Hellickson at the St. Johns Lutheran Church in Dickinson, N. Dakota on December 19, 1956.
They moved to Oregon in May of 1962 where he worked for Crown Zellerbach plywood, onto a warehouseman at Home Town Hardware in Portland, they sold out to Cotter & Co. and he continued to work there until his retirement in 1997.
He was baptized in the Lutheran Church in Marshall, N. Dakota and confirmed in Spring Creek Lutheran Church in Holliday, N. Dakota.
Jerome loved music and he played in a number of bands and he also enjoyed fishing and playing pool at the senior center.
Survivors include: Wife: Sharon Rynning of Columbia City; Sisters: Alice Twigley of Bismarck, N. Dakota; LaVerne McConnell of Boise, ID.; numerous nieces & nephews.
Funeral Service: Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at 11:00 AM at First Lutheran Church-St. Helens
Committal service & vault interment: Columbia Memorial Gardens-Scappoose.
