Jim E. Beisley's Obituary
Funeral services for James Ernest Beisley will be held 1PM, Thursday, October 27th at Columbia River Foursquare Church at 555 Commons Drive, St Helens, OR.
Jim passed away at his home on October 21st, surrounded by his family. He was 72 years of age.
Jim was born, January 3, 1939 at Vinita, Oklahoma to Ernest Rosco and Christella Florence Sherwood Beisley, the oldest of nine children. When Jim was nine years old the family moved from Oklahoma to the Scappoose area where he graduated from Scappoose High School in 1957. A few years later on November 25, 1960, he married Vonnie Dees in Warren, Oregon. From this union they had two sons.
Jim worked at Willemse Stained Glass Studio in Scappoose for 6 years before buying See Bee Glass in St. Helens that he operated for the next 38 years before closing in 2008.
Jim served his country in the United States Air Force Reserve. He had many passions, but none was stronger than his commitment to his family. He gave of his time and money as he sponsored little league baseball, basketball, football and slow pitch when the family had members involved. Oregon State University was another joy; many a family gathering would find Jim searching for a high point to get some reception to listen to a game. Jim was known in the family and community as a hard -working, dedicated, helping hand and the person to turn to in time of need or assistance. He was the leader in his family after his dad passed away, caring for his mother for many years. He will be missed deeply.
Jim is survived by his wife of almost 51 years, son Bryan of St. Helens, grandchildren; Meagan, Cody, Colton and Canon, siblings; Shirley Beisley of Beaverton, Ernestine Page of Warren, Ermadene Zielaskowski of St. Helens, Mary Kranda of Portland and Kenneth Beisley of Scappoose. Preceded in death by parents, son Richard Allan, and brothers; Edward, Clyde and Charlie.
