Johanna E. Corra's Obituary
Johanna E. Corra was born on December 22, 1915 in Yakima, WA. to Oliver & Viola Carolson Dawson.
She died at a foster care home in Hillsboro, OR. on March 3, 2006 at the age of 90.
She was educated and graduated from St. Helens Hi School in 1930.
She married Arthur Corra in Kelso, WA. in 1931. He preceded her in death in 1990.
She lived in numerous towns in Washington state before moving to Columbia City, OR. in 1923 and living here until she moved to Forest Grove in 2000 to be closer to family.
She was a member of Sunset Park Community Church. She played the piano, had her own dance band, a rug and yarn shop and taught weaving at Portland Community College. She had many self-employed occupations, the last being interior design and wallpapering.
Survivors include: Children: Connie Rae Thornton of Portland; Karen B. Nelson of Hillsboro; Jack A. Corra of Forest Grove and Phillip J. Corra of Portland; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren. Numerous nieces & nephews.
Viewing and Visitation: 9-5 Wednesday at Columbia Funeral Home
Funeral Service: Thursday, 3/9/06, 11:00 AM at Sunset Park Community Church-St. Helens
Committal service & vault interment: Yankton Hillcrest Cemetery
