John Joe Hobizal's Obituary
John Joe Hobizal was born on June 16, 1924 in Scappoose, Oregon to Matt & Josephine Hlavinka Hobizal.
He died at his home in Scappoose, Oregon on December 6, 2012 at the age of 88.
John attended Scappoose High School. He left before graduating to join the Navy during WWII. Other than his time in the Navy, he only resided in Scappoose.
He married Dorothy Stoos on June 19, 1954 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Scappoose. John worked as a carpenter for Hoffman Construction until he retired in 1987.
John attended St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Scappoose and for 35 years he managed the church cemetery.
He was an avid outdoorsman, with his love of fishing and hunting. From the time of his retirement he spent hours on the river. His joy was to take his sons and friends fishing.
Married to Dorothy Hobizal for 58 years and has 5 Children: Ray Rhonda Hobizal, Phil Patricia Hobizal, Larry Trudy Hobizal, Pat Julie Hobizal and Anne Steve Edwards, Siblings: Frank Hobizal, Mary Mares. He also has 20 Grandchildren and 7 Great-Grandchildren.
Memorial Mass: Friday, December 14, 2012 at 10:30 AM at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church Committal Service & interment: St. Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery-Scappoose, OR.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Community Home, Health and Hospice in Longview, Washington.
