John M. Briggs' Obituary
John M. Briggs was born in Marrinette, MI. on February 3, 1927 to John J. & Elva Duhaime Briggs.
He died at a Portland hospital on December 10, 2003 at the age of 76.
He was educated in St. Helens and was in the merchant marines during WWII.
He has lived in St. Helens all of his life and worked at Boise for 40 years, retiring as a finishing supervisor in 1985.
He married Mildred in Vancouver, WA. on May 22, 1973.
He was a member of the Catholic denomination and he enjoyed fishing and hunting in the Lapine, OR. area.
He is survived by his wife: Mildred of St. Helens; Children: Darlene Penland of Cornelius, OR., Michael & Duane Briggs both of Kent, WA.; Gilford Corner of Warren, OR.; Sister: Virginia Werfs of Portland; 3 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren.
Private family cryptside service & entombment: Columbia Memorial Gardens-Scappoose, OR.
