John R. Walker, Sr.'s Obituary
John R. Walker, Sr. was born on April 11, 1933 in Warren, Ohio to Ray & Dorthy ShaferWalker.
He died at a Portland Hospital on June 24, 2004 at the age of 71.
He moved with his family to Westport, OR. in 1947, then to Scappoose, later to St. Helens and Columbia City in '58.
He graduated from St. Helens Hi in '51, married Yvonne Peterson in 1957.
He worked at Boise in Quality Control, retiring in 1988. He also ran a chainsaw sales & repair shop from his home in Columbia City from '78-88.
Survived by: Wife: Yvonne Walker of Columbia City; Sons: John R. Walker II and Michael Walker both of St. Helens; daughter: Gayle Graham of Redmond, OR.; Siblings: William Walker of St. Helens; Jean Loggan of Beaverton, OR.; 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents and a son Robert.
Viewing & Visitation Tuesday 9-5, Recitation of the Rosary: 7:00 PM Tuesday 6/29/04 both at Columbia Funeral Home
Mass of Christian Burial: Wednesday 6/30/04 at St. Frederic Catholic Church at 10:00 AM
Private family committal service & crypt entombment: Columbia Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
