John Robert Bruce's Obituary
John Robert Bruce was born on July 16, 1926 in Portland, Oregon to John V. & Edith Virginia May Bruce.
He died at his home in St. Helens on May 19, 2011 at the age of 84.
John attended and graduated from Benson High School in 1944. He went into the Army in radio communications staying in until his retirement. He had secret service clearance, worked in embassies overseas and was in Iran and Iraq during the 1950's.
He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia and in December of 2010 he married Sandra Emerson whom he had known since 1994.
John lived in Vancouver since 1990 and most recently in St. Helens since October of 2010.
He was of the Baptist Faith, a member of the VFW, American Legion and NRA. He liked to read or watch anything related to military or government and visit with friends.
Survivors include: Wife Sandra Bruce of St. Helens; 3 Sons: Charles Bruce of Acton, CA.; Phillip Bruce of Long Beach, CA., James Bruce of Hillsboro; 2 nieces Diane Conjer of Newberg; Charlotte Bryant of Vancouver, WA.; 6 grandchildren: Heather, Ayiana, Maylea, Nigel, Kayla & Madison.
Graveside service & interment: Columbia Memorial Gardens. Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at 2:00 PM
