Josephine K. Trtek's Obituary
I was born Josephine Katherine Nakvasil on April 2, 1911 on a Prairie farm in Shawmut, Montana. My parents were Rose and Frank Nakvasil they had emigrated from Czechoslovakia.
When I was sixteen, my parents seven of my brothers and sisters moved to the Czech community of St. Wenceslaus in Scappoose, Oregon. On July 16, 1935 I married Joseph Frank Trtek. We were both 24 years old.
At the beginning of WWII, Joe enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps and was a B-17 Flight Commander in the European War Theater. His rank was Captain. In 1936 our daughter Josephine Yvonne was born. She is now Sister Catherine Trtek and is a member of the Sisters for Christian Community.
Joe and I were married for 70 years. On April 2, 2012 I celebrated my 101st birthday.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday December 18 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Scappoose. Committal was held in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery.
