Joyce - Burghart's Obituary
Joyce Burghart was born on September 10, 1914 in Apache, Oklahoma to Joseph & Louise Stenger Waltermire.
She died in a care center in Scio, Oregon on January 16, 2005 at the age of 90.
She was educated in Chanute, Kansas and moved to the St. Helens area in 1945 until present.
She married Harold on May 30, 1937, he preceded her in death in 1983.
She was the Columbia Co. Tax Collector for 25 years, from 1953-1978.
She was coordinator of the ''55 Alive'' refresher driving course, the St. Helens contact for Portland Community Concerts, tour host for a number of these concerts. Member of Business & Professional Women, AARP, St. Helens women of the year in 1989, member of Sunset Park Community Church-very active, a christian and a sunday school teacher for 45 years.
Her enjoyments included painting, sewing, flower gardening and traveling.
Survivors include: Daughters: Nisha Ann Coulter of North Ridge, CA.; Patricia Joyce Wilson of Albany, OR.; sister: Etta Fleming of Mesa, AZ.; 5 grandchildren.
Funeral service: Sunday, January 23, 2005 at 2:00 PM at Sunset Park Community Church-St. Helens, OR.
Interment: Bethany Memorial Cemetery-Warren, OR.
