June Victoria May passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 29, 2017. She was 83.
Born November 28, 1933 in Portland to Lloyd and Thelma Roalsen, she grew up in Willamina and graduated from high school there.
She was employed at Jantzen Knitting Mills for several years before marrying the love of her life, Dan May in 1967.
She worked with Dan in the family business, May’s Variety, for many years before retirement.
June loved to sing, cook, and entertain, but most of all she loved to spend time with her children and their families. She was a member of the Moose and Elks Lodges.
She is survived by: her husband of 50 years, Dan; daughters Laura Emody, Sandy; Doreen Shadley, Mesa, Arizona; and Michelle Bennett, St. Helens; sons Randy, St. Helens; Jeff, Goble; 16 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m., April 14, 2017 at the Columbia Funeral Home in St. Helens.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the local Toy and Joy Auction.
