Juneious Frank Harty's Obituary
Juneious F. "Papa" Harty was born on August 5, 1919 in McCrory, Arkansas to Samuel & Fannie Stewart Harty.
He died at his home in Scappoose on July 24, 2011 at the age of 91.
"Frank" was educated through the 8th grade, he married Fern Bostock in 1937 in Logan, Utah, she preceded him in death in 2002. They moved to Vanport in 1941, then after the flood they lived in Vancouver, WA. for a time, and then back to Portland in '56 and then later to Scappoose in 1980 until present.
He was in the Army from 1944-1946. Was ordained as a Baptist minister in 1952 and he retired in 1973.
Frank was a member of the Baptist Church and a lifetime member of the VFW. He was spiritual, a good farmer and a hard worker.
Survivors include: 3 children: Alice Grove of Scappoose; Juneious Harty, Jr. of Salem; Beverley Harty of Fairbanks, Alaska; Sister: Iva Bledsoe of Carlsbad, CA.; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren.
Viewing & Visitation: Thursday 2-5 at Columbia Funeral Home
Funeral Service: Friday, July 29, 2011 at 10:00 AM at First Missionary Baptist Church-St. Helens.
Honor Guard, Committal service & interment: Willamette National Cemetery-Portland.
