Kathie R. Thorp May 02, 1957 ~ June 20, 2016
Kathie R. Thorp, born Kathy Renee Dougherty, of St. Helens passed away June 20, 2016 at the age of 59 at Providence St. Vincent Hospital after experiencing a second stroke.
Kathie was born on May 2, 1957 in St. Helens, Oregon to Ronald and Alene Dougherty of Deer Island.
She was an active member of her church and a supporter of youth robotics, always willing to help out and encouraging others.
Among her many hobbies, her true passion and inspiration came from the Disney characters she loved and collected throughout the years.
She enjoyed gardening, colorful flowers, the beach, sunny days, trips to Disneyland and most recently, beautiful Hawaii.
Above all else, she was a loving and caring grandmother, mother, daughter and sister whose main purpose and focus in life was her family and making sure everyone she cared about was happy.
She is survived by her two children; Malysa Stratton Louk and Allison Thorp; her three grandchildren, David, RayvnRaiyn and Jeremiah; her mother, Alene Dougherty; her sisters Juanita Morris and Leona Gibson; and her brother James Dougherty.
A Celebration of Life will be held on July 15, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Grace Baptist Church, 58690 Ross Rd. in St. Helens for friends and family. Her remains will be scattered by her daughters in Hawaii and Disneyland, and also near her father and three infant sisters Rowena Faith, Vickie Ann and Julie Kay.
