Keith Lyle Denkers' Obituary
Keith Lyle Denkers
Born November 26, 1948 in Pocatello, Idaho to Donald and Verda Denkers. He left behind a very active life in which he was a devout member o f The Church of Latter Day Saints, and active member of the Scouts and he competed in the Special Olympics on a local and national level, in which he received many medals and commendations. He love to bowl, play baseball and competed in track and loved to ride his bike.
Keith worked at Safeway in St.Helens for 27 years in which he became a landmark for the community and was known by most of the community for his friendly attitude and willingness to help as well as his friendly and somewhat painful neck massages. He is loved and missed dearly by many in this community but Heavenly Father has called him home to new tasks.
Keith was taken by brain cancer on the morn of April 23, 2009 after almost three years of chemo. He is preceded in death by both parents Donald and Verda Denkers and leaves behind brothers; Walter Denkers of Vancouver, Steven Denkers of Scappoose, Donald Denkers of St. Helens, and sisters; Marion Newey of Warren, Jerrilyn Denkers-Ramos of Idaho, Lettie Buel of Seattle, Verdeen Anderson of St. Helens, and Gayle Rusk of St. Helens. He is also survived by 24 nieces and nephews and 23 great-nieces and nephews.
Special thanks and love go out to all those who came and visited with Keith in his last days. We know he appreciated and loved every minute of every visit. More special thanks go out to Debbie, Sandi, Cricket, Doug, Richard, Tom, and Keith's best friend Alan and others too numerous to add, Thank You. There will be a service on Tuesday April 28, 2009 at 10:00 am at the L.D. S. Church in St. Helens, followed by interment at Columbia Memorial Gardens, Scappoose.
