Koni Leanne Comfort's Obituary
Koni Leanne Comfort was born on November 3, 1953 in Havre, Montana to August & Golda Allen Laas.
She died at her home in Scappoose on December 16, 2010 at the age of 57.
Koni grew up and was raised on a wheat farm in North- Central Montana and graduated from Chester High School in 1971. She moved to Scappoose in 1993 from Ponca City, OK. She married Mark on November 26, 1994 at Warren Community Fellowship Church where they are members.
She was a massage therapist Comfort Massage until 2004.
When Mark & Koni would travel to Montana they would bring back Montana river rock for their fireplace and trim on their home. They loved to travel in the motor home or to Hawaii.
She was proud of her Estonian heritage, she loved looking pretty and wearing pink. She collected crackle glass, vintage beaded purses and Native American art.
Koni's joy and love of life infected everyone she knew and she shared herself with numerous cancer support groups, especially "Making Today Count". She sewed a large quilt called "65 Roses" to support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation that raised thousands of dollars to support research.
Survivors include: Husband: Mark Comfort; Children: Austa Lord, Kaysha, Jake and Josh Comfort; Siblings: Donnie & Rob Laas, Bonnie Shaw, Cyndy LaSorte; Mother-in-law: Charlotte Comfort; 3 grandchildren: Keanu Lord, Caiden Dailey, Kaycee Bell Comfort; numerous nieces & nephews and her beloved French Bulldog "Chopper".
Celebration of Life: Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Warren Community Fellowship Church.
Committal service & niche inurnment: Columbia Memorial Gardens-Scappoose, OR.
