Larry K. Shimp's Obituary
Larry K. Shimp was born on August 27, 1941 in Aurora, Ill. to John & Henrietta Putt Shimp.
He died at his home in Scappoose on January 12, 2007 at the age of 65.
He was educated in Naperville, Ill, then married Joan Pfaff there on September 17, 1960.
In 1971 they moved to Cottage Grove, OR. living there until moving to Scappoose 3 1/2 years ago.
While living in Cottage Grove he worked on the railroad and for Willamette Industries. While living in Scappoose he worked as a mechanic and welder for Western Trailer.
His interests included restoring old cars, riding his motorcycle, fishing, hunting and the outdoors as well as being with his grandkids.
Survivors include: Wife Joan Shimp of Scappoose; Daughters: Denise Shimp of Eugene; Marcy Parker of Portland; Lisa Shimp of Phoenix, AZ.; Siblings: Curtis Shimp of Berryville, VA.; Randy Shimp of Friendswood, TX.; Sylvia Mitchell of Festus, MO.; Jonelle Nuttall of Naperville, Ill.; Leda Young of Escanaba, MI.; Debra Munell of Warrenville, Ill.; Lauri Sieben of Wheaton, Ill.; 6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren.
