Larry Allan Prouty's Obituary
Larry, Allan Prouty age 70, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 22nd, 2019 at his residence in Rainer, Oregon. He was born on March 7th, 1949 in Portland, son of Douglas and Mary Prouty of Hillsboro, Oregon deceased. Survived by wife Alberta (Bertie) Prouty, brother Robert Prouty, and sister Lori Fohl .
Mr. Prouty enlisted in the Army and served from 1966 – 1969. While serving our country he graduated jump school and earned honors for marksmanship. He returned home from a tour of duty in Vietnam, started a family in the NW where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and outdoor activities. As a highly skilled mechanic, he pursued a professional career in the manufacturing industry working and leading others as machine operator and metal fabricator. His skills, knowledge and personality migrated into the sales side of the business he retires a few years later.
Larry finds his second wife, the love of his life, Alberta (Bertie) Cook. After living in Tigard, Oregon for a few years they moved to Rainer, Oregon so they could enjoy their beautiful property overlooking the Columbia River, boating, traveling in their RV and enjoying a peaceful retirement.
Larry valued family and friends. he was always willing to help others in need. He was the beloved father of surviving sons David, Jason, and Marcus. He was especially proud of his five granddaughters Amanda, Makena, Katherine, Elizabeth, Victoria and nieces and nephews Jamie, Carrie, Chelsea, Chris, Andy, Justin Prouty, and Bertie’s niece Cathy & Michael Laferty. He enjoyed spending time with the entire family and will be missed by all.
Services will be held in honor of Mr. Proutyat Willamette National Cemetery https://www.cem.va.gov/cems/nchp/willamette.asp August 15th at 12:30 p.m.
