Laura L. Park's Obituary
Laura L. Park was born on June 20, 1913 in Mulino, OR. to John & Maude Manning Cappler.
She died at a Scappoose assisted living center on March 18, 2009 at the age of 95.
Laura was educated in Mulino and lived in Oregon most of her life with a brief time in Minnesota and California.
During the war she was a riveter, she married Harvey Park and was a homemaker and raised her family. She was a longtime member of the Moose Lodge and the Yankton Grange, president of Colco for 13 years and very involved in the senior center. Laura was a great seamstress and reupholstered furniture. She crocheted, knitted and loved to bake and try new recipes.
Survivors include: Children: Bob Kennedy of Warren; Vivian Spinden of Yankton; Frank Morgan of Walla Walla, WA.; Ralph Morgan of College Place, WA.; Brother: Ralph Cappler of Mulino, OR.; 13 grandchildren; numerous greatgrandchildren & great-great grandchildren; preceded in death by her husband; a daughter: Elva Fortner in 2008; a grandson: Stephen E. Spinden, JR. in 1994.
Funeral Service: Friday, March 20, 2009 at 2:00PM at Columbia Funeral Home
committal service & interment: Yankton Hillcrest Cemetery.
