Lauren (Ron) Johnson

Lauren (Ron) Ronald Johnson, 86, passed away peacefully at home on September 17, 2017 in St. Helens, Oregon. He was born on December 24, 1930 in Portland, Oregon to Einar and Myrtle (Brezee) Johnson.
Ron retired in 1993 from the military; Navy, Air Force and Army Reserve and served in the Korean War. He also worked as a Truck Driver throughout his life; driving local, state and long haul, transporting logs, wood chips, cans and even flour.
In his spare time, he enjoyed flying, reading, playing computer games, watching car races and traveling. Ron was a member of the American Legion and the Moose along with being a Lifetime Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Ron is survived by his sister, D. Louann Pesek of Gresham, Oregon; son, Gregory Johnson of Vicksburg, Mississippi; daughters, Ronda Dunn of Clarkston, Washington, and Floydene Calhoon of St. Helens, Oregon.; his step daughters, Valerie Lauter and TeeDee Siemienczuk of St. Helens, Oregon, Laurie Beadle of Fayetteville, North Carolina; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 3:00 pm at the Kozy Korner Restaurant, 371 Columbia Blvd., St. Helens, Oregon.
A private burial will be at Bethany Lutheran Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
