Laurence "Larry" Kennedy's Obituary
Larry, the oldest of six children, was born on Sept. 24, 1943 in Oakland, CA to Thomas and Shirley Kennedy. He passed away Dec. 5 at the age of 70 at home. He has lived in the Scappoose/St. Helens area since 1949.
Larry enjoyed spending time with his family, going bowling and attending Riverside Training Centers. Larry treasured the various Special Olympic medals he earned over the years. Larry was also quite the fashionista. He, himself, was always well dressed, usually with a tie and hat. But, he was also full of compliments for others, often stating “You look beautiful”.
Larry is survived by his mother, Shirley Kennedy; two sisters: Kerry Kelly and Colleen Kennedy; and two brothers: Mike (Beth) Kennedy and Brian (Linda) Kennedy. He has two nieces: Stacey (Bill) Wilson and Diane Kennedy; and four nephews: Steve (Eileen) Kelly, Shaun (Teresa) Kennedy, Daniel Kennedy and Ken Kennedy. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Shannon Kennedy.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 PM on Thur., Dec. 12 at the Columbia Funeral Home, St. Helens.
