Lawrence Calvin Corkran's Obituary
Lawrence Calvin Corkran passed on Tuesday, January 16, 2024. He was born October 24, 1945, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Calvin Patrick Corkran and Elizabeth Corkran. He grew up in Groves, Texas, with 3 siblings: Verner Patrick Corkran, Orrin Dale Corkran, and Anne Elizabeth Corkran.
Lawrence graduated from Port Neches-Groves High School and went on to serve in the US Marine Corps. He then continued with his education in technology, in Miami.
Lawrence met the love of his life, Linda Arlene Boyle, in Houston, Texas. They were married February 3, 1968. Together, they had two beautiful daughters, Gina Corkran and Lisa Corkran. He loved spending so very many fun times with his three grandchildren: Austin, Aaliyah, and Lawrence.
Lawrence had a God-given talent in carpentry and could build anything… a true Master. He traveled with his family to many beautiful places. He loved la playa (the beach), especially Los Ayala, Mexico, and Navarre Beach, Florida. Lawrence, often called “Daddy” or “Pawpaw,” was known for being goofy, silly, funny, hardworking, and athletic... and he LOVED his music!
Lawrence is survived by his two daughters: Gina Corkran (Richard Rodriguez) and Lisa Corkran (Ryan Robinson); brother, Orrin Corkran; sister, Anne Corkran; and three precious grandchildren: Austin Enriquez, Aaliyah Rodriguez, and Lawrence Robinson Corkran. He is preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Elizabeth Corkran; his lovely wife, Linda Arlene Corkran; brother, Verner Corkran; and nephew, Mitchell Corkran.
Lawrence and Linda were inseparable; they were the true meaning of “Soul Mates.” Now they will forever be together in love for Eternity… Dance on, Mommy and Daddy!
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made with the designation "In Honor of Lawrence Corkran" to the Seacrest Wolf Preserve: https://www.seacrestwolfpreserve.org/donate.
