Lawrence ''Larry'' - VanEgdom's Obituary
Lawrence ''Larry'' VanEgdom was born on February 27, 1920 in Everson, WA. to Ray & Marie Honcoop VanEgdom.
He died at Hopewell House in Portland on December 4, 2004 at the age of 84.
He had 9 brothers and sisters, growing up in Lynden, WA. and was married to Dorothy Towes of Ferndale, WA. on December 22, 1943.
He was a sergeant in WWII Army division, European Theater. He came home and settled in Ferndale, WA. in 1945 and moved to Clatskanie in 1965.
Larry worked as a construction manager in Washington, Oregon, Alaska and Hawaii. He taught construction management for OSU in Corvallis, OR.
In 1996 Larry & Dorothy moved to Scappoose, OR. Larry was actively involved with his church, Warren Community Fellowship as well as the Scappoose Senior Center working on numerous construction projects.
Survivors include: Beloved wife: Dorothy of Scappoose; Children: Wayne & Cathye VanEgdom of Portland; Karen & Stan Sampair of Clatskanie; Alan VanEgdom of Portland; Brothers: Gilbert VanEgdom of Chino, CA.; Matt VanEgdom of Cupertino, CA.; Sisters: Alice Oltman of Bellingham, WA.; Dena Coop of Lynden, WA.; 5 grandchildren: Kelli, Megan, Greg, Lawrence, Ashley; 1 great grandson: Kai; several nieces & nephews.
Memorial service: Friday, 12/10/04 at 11:00 AM at Warren Community Fellowship Church.
