Lea Rahel Blind's Obituary
Lea Rahel Blind of St. Helens, Oregon was born in Zeeland, North Dakota to Frederick and Magdalena Meidinger Aipperspach on March 7, 1916. She died on March 13, 2009 in St. Helens, Oregon at the age of 93.
Lea grew up with many brothers and sisters on a large farm that spanned both North and South Dakota. She graduated form Zeeland High School in 1934 where she lettered in basketball.
In 1941, she marreid Henry Blind in Bremerton, Washington and the couple resided in Bremerton most of thier married life. Mrs. Blind was a homemaker, a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church and a member of the Westside Garden Club. She was a talented seamstress and known for being very sweet-tempered and patient.
Lea was preceded in death by her husband Henry, brothers; Otto, Fred, and Gotfried, sisters; Irena, Martha, Magdalena, Clara, Lydia, Eva, Katharina, Anna Lydia Bertha, and Mary; two grandsons; Joseph and James. She is survived by 3 children; James Henry of Scottsdale, Arizona; Walter John of Redmond, Oregon; and Patricia Elizabeth Overstreet of St. Helens, Oregon; Two sisters; Christina and Esther and 9 grandchilren, 10 great grandchidren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Private interment will be in Columbia Memorial Gardens in Scappoose.
