Leona V. Snider's Obituary
Leona V. Snider was born on March 29, 1924 in Delena, Oregon to Emory Ward & Mary RippingtonMiller.
She died at her home in Warren, OR. on March 25, 2006 at the age of 81.
She was a lifetime resident of Columbia County, as a small baby she moved to Warren on Stone Rd. to the 80 acre Miller farm. She lived there until she met and married Warren G. Snider on May 8, 1954. They then moved to the St. Helens area for a short while until Warren's job took them to Seward, Alaska for a short while in 1956. At that time they moved back to Warren, OR. to her present address where they lived together until he passed away in September of 1988. In 1956 they adopted daughter, Beckie Lynn. And in 1960 they adopted James Lewis, Shirley Ann and Patsi Lou. Warren also had a son Wayne Warren. Leona worked as a loving housewife and mother. She had 13 grandchildren that she adored. 17 great grandchildren that were the lite of her life.
Her family and God were her life. She was a lifetime member of the Scappoose-St. Helens Seventh-Day Adventist Church where she attended church every Saturday, she sat in her spot in the pew every Sabbath. She was a comfort to all that loved her. As a scipture was to her. She will be missed by her family and friends who loved and knew her.
She is survived by her children, Brother: Fred Miller, Sister: Lottie Quinn, Brother-in-law: W.L. Snider, Sister-in-laws: Lucille Stillwell, Betty Goodall and Dorothy Presnell and numerous nieces & nephews that she also loved dearly.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, her parents and 4 brothers and sisters.
Viewing & Visitation: 9-7 Thursday at Columbia Funeral Home
Funeral service: Friday March 31, 2006 at 1:00 PM at Scappoose-St. Helens Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Committal service & Vault interment to Follow at Bethany Memorial Cemetery in Warren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Church school for the children.
