Leonard LaVerne Heilers' Obituary
Leonard LaVerne Heilers was born on January 25, 1937 in Stratton, Nebraska to Leonard & Dorothy Brown Heilers.
He died at his home in Bakersfield, CA. on March 19, 2008 at the age of 71.
He attended Junior College in Bakersfield & graduated from Humbolt College in Arcadia, CA., living in Bakersfield for over 40 years.
He was a deputy parole officer for Kern Co. Juevenile Probation Department in Bakersfield, CA., starting on February 1, 1966 and retiring on May 3, 2002.
He hot air ballooned in all 50 states and was a member of the Hot Air Balloon Federation. He also enjoyed traveling and logged over 1 million miles on 2 different airlines. He also enjoyed flowers and his yard at home.
Survivors include: Brother & Sister-in-law: Bill & Carol Heilers of Scappoose, OR.; Nieces: Theresa & Cory Trotter; Meredith "Duffer" & Jerry Vick; thier children: Joey, Haley and many friends in the Kern County Probation Department.
Graveside service & vault interment: Columbia Memorial Gardens Cemetery; Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 1:00 PM
