Leonard A. Simpson's Obituary
Leonard Austin Simpson was born on February 11, 1936 in Yankton, Oregon to William & Annie Sharp Simpson.
He died at a Portland hospital on April 28, 2010 due to complications from lung cancer at the age of 74.
He married Janet Huggins on July 19, 1958 in St. Helens. They had two children, Jeffrey Simpson and Edward Simpson. He later married Alice Mary Mitchell on October 19, 1979 and they welcomed a daughter, Lynn Michelle Stockwell.
Over the years he worked for Boise Cascade, Friesen Lumber and most currently, Oak Meadows Best Western in St. Helens. He joined the Oregon National Guard at the age of 18 and served for 15 years from 1954-1969. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and time with his family and friends.
Survivors include: Wife: Alice Simpson; 3 children: Jeffrey Julie Simpson; Edward Simpson; Lynn Stockwell Mike Pense all of St. Helens; Siblings: Nanette Mallory of St. Helens; Robert Simpson of Warren; Richard Simpson of St. Helens; 10 grandchildren; Kevin Simpson, Emily Simpson, Adam Stockwell, Austin Stockwell, Jadyn Pense, Malin Pense and Zane Pense all of St. Helens; Chase Miller of California, David Pettit of Washington; numerous nieces & nephews. Preceded in death by 2 siblings: William Simpson and Mary Ann Baker.

Graveside Service & vault interment: Yankton Hillcrest Cemetery
