Leroy Johnson November 17, 1923 ~ March 28, 2017
Leroy Johnson died peacefully in hospice care on March 28, 2017 in St. Helens at the age of 93.
Leroy is survived by his daughters Valerie Lauter of St. Helens, Laurie Beadle of Fayetteville, and Teedee Siemienczuk of St. Helens, cousins Lauren and Louann Johnson and grandchildren Chuck Hinshaw, Ryan Hinshaw, Eric Mclung, Eleane Beadle, Jared Beadle, Daniel Siemienczuk, Josie Siemienczuk, Sean Siemienczuk, Joel Siemienczuk, and Colin Siemienczuk as well as 18 great grandchildren. Leroy is preceded in death by longtime companion Dorothy Bliven of St. Helens.
Leroy was born on November 17, 1923 in Warren, Oregon to Frank and Matilda Johnson; he graduated from Scappoose High School and went on to serve in the United States Navy Seabees in World War II; he also worked as a logger and retired from Crown Zellerbach as a Heavy Equipment Operator.
A Celebration of Life event is scheduled for 1-4pm on April 8, 2017 at the St. Helens Senior Center.
