Leroy Leo Slaby's Obituary
Leroy Leo Slaby was born on February 26, 1930 in Cayuga, N. Dakota to Leo & Florence Silverthorn Slaby.
He died at his home in Scappoose on January 1, 2008 at the age of 77.
He was baptized into the Catholic Church.
Leroy was inducted into the Army in Portland in 1951 until being discharged in 1953 at Fort Lewis, WA.
He married Carol Ann Lemke on July 3, 1957 in Vancouver, WA.; She preceded him in death in 1985.
Leroy lived in the Scappoose area from 1960 until present. He worked in heavy equipment contruction, farming and lastly he retired as a cat skidder with Eagle Star Rock Products. His enjoyments included farming, fishing, camping, boating, gardening and his many projects.
Survivors include: Children: Cheryl Zenner of Tigard, OR.; Lori Hughes of Redmond, OR.; Wynette Williams of Scappoose; Joseph Slaby of St. Helens; Sister: Marge Frye of Duluth, Minnesota; 5 grandchildren.
Celebration of Life: Saturday, January 12, 2007 at 1:00 PM at Family's Home 30245 Dutch Canyon Rd.-Scappoose, OR.
Private family interment: St. Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery-Scappoose, OR.
