Libby Marie Thayer's Obituary
Libby Marie Thayer was born on January 16, 1917 in Lawrence, Nebraska to John & Mary Verzil Jobanek.
She died at an assisted living center in Oregon City, Oregon on November 14, 2011 at the age of 94.
Libby attended and graduated from Lawrence Nebraska High School in 1935, in 1936 she moved with her family to Scappoose. She met Clarence Thayer here and on April 19, 1945 in Oneonta, New York they were married. They made their home in Scappoose and lived here until they moved to the Portland area to be closer to family.
Early on they attended the Baptist Church and loved to square dance. She was especially proud of her Czech heritage.
Survivors include Husband Clarence of 66 years of Oregon City, OR.; numerous nieces & nephews.
Funeral Service: Friday, November 18, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Columbia Funeral Home-St. Helens
Committal Service & vault interment: Columbia Memorial Gardens-Scappoose, OR.
