My dearest Lillian - little did you know that when my parents Paul and Marieta Kruggel, brought me to your home... I was just 10 years old. You and Leo were my parents' friends who loved our First Lutheran Church, enjoyed the card games (cribbage & pinochle), and special desserts.
Over the years our friendship continued and I became very close to my friend Lillian, as we learned to e-mail each other and discuss yardwork, church, and proper manners. I will never forget Lillian saying one night to me...never put out new candles on the table, unless you have lit them first! OKAY!
As she got older, my great granddaughter, Maddyson, and I made a habit of visiting her regularly plus taking raspberry milkshakes from Dari Delish! When we walked in, Maddyson knew we had to have napkins around the shake because Lillian would say..."now you know that is too cold for my hands!"
I LOVED THAT WOMAN. I lost a friend and yet I know she is in God's hands. Last Friday, Maddy wore her "light up" jingle bell necklace and sang to Lillian. So I know there's an angel in heaven dancing with lights!
Thank you to the Mickelson family for sharing their mommy with me! I miss her!
