Linda Sue (Wiggins) Melton

Linda Sue (Wiggins) Melton died peacefully in Hillsboro, Oregon on September 1, 2017 at the age of 69.
Linda was born October 26, 1947 to Orville and Evelyn Wiggins in Eugene, Oregon. She graduated from Woodburn High School in 1965. Shortly after high school she married Pat Gayken and had three children they later divorced.
In 1983, she met the love of her life, Pat Melton, and they were married on December 27, 1987. Linda began working in the banking industry in her 20’s and remained in the industry for her entire career. She worked 28 years at Bank of America, finishing her career there as a Vice President of Residential Underwriting. She also spent some time working for Wauna Credit Union before her health caused her to retire. She enjoyed walking in many events including the Portland Marathon on several occasions. She had many good memories spent with family and friends hiking and backpacking all over Oregon. She loved baking, sewing, scrapbooking, gardening and canning among many other things. Most recently she had spent a lot of time with her great grandchildren.
Linda is survived by her two brothers Orville “Bud” Wiggins (Barbara) and Tom Wiggins (Becky); sisters, Jan Veeder, Ruth Davidson (Robert), Karen Littlejohn (Dave), Cathy McNulty (Rich); husband, Pat; daughter, Tammy Belwood; Stepchildren , Rob Melton (Misti) and Trish Beckius (Terrel); grandchildren, Erica Lindsay (Jessie), Tanner Balogh, Kaia Beckius, Ronan Beckius, Reese Melton and Carter Melton; great grandchildren, Brayden, Harper and Braxton Lindsay as well as many nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Orville and Evelyn Wiggins; sons, Patrick Gayken and David Gayken; her brother, Gary Wiggins and her granddaughter, Taija Belwood.
A Memorial Celebration will be held at the Hillsboro Elks Lodge on Saturday, September 23, 2017 from 2-6 PM. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Linda’s life.
