Lindsay R. MacWilliams' Obituary
Lindsay R. MacWilliams was born on June 26, 1931 in Bellingham, WA. to Hector & Elba Wendland MacWilliams.
He died at a Longview, WA. hospice care center on April 13, 2011 at the age of 79.
Lindsay attended schools in Milwaukie, Rainier and The Dalles before enlisting in the U.S. Navy the day the Korean War broke out. He served as an aircraft mechanic for four years including duty on the aircraft carrier Princeton during that war.
He lived in Chehalis, WA. prior to moving back to Rainier in 1968. On August 30, 1969 he married Mildred Mickey in Cornelius, OR.
Lindsay enjoyed his children & grandchildren, hunting, fishing and gardening. He was a friend to all noted for his sense of humor. He also was a logger and for a time, as a guide at Rainy Pass Lodge in Alaska before joining Grimmitt Enterprises where he worked 30 years as a construction operating engineer, retiring in 2000.
Survivors include: Wife: Mildred "Florence" MacWilliams of St. Helens; Daughters: Lisa Mallough & Lori Bailey both of Chehalis, WA.; Siblings: Linda Gibson of LaPine, OR.; Jonie Thayer of Bend, OR.; Douglas MacWilliams of Edmonds, WA.; Andy Thayer of Rainier, OR.; Stepsons: Bob, Jim, Dave; Grandchildren: 2; Step Grandchildren: 7; Great Grandchildren: 4; Step Great Grandchildren: 10. Preceded in death by Parents; Son: Jordy, Brothers: Fred & Glenn MacWilliams.
Graveside Service & interment: Yankton Hillcrest Cemetery-St. Helens, OR. Tuedsay, April 19, 2011 at 2:00 PM.
