Lloyd David Smith's Obituary
Lloyd David Smith was born on June 7, 1924 in Floydada, Texas to James & Cora Lee Deaton Smith.
He died in his home in Scappoose, OR. on August 25, 2010 at the age of 86.
He was educated in Texas and married Helen Franklin in Burkburnett, Texas on May 8, 1948. They came to Oregon on thier honeymoon, went back to Texas in 1950 with a 9 month old. In 1963 moved permanently to Scappoose until present.
He worked hard at many different jobs including a cab driver, electroplating business and sales. Worked for Sears for 21 years, retiring in 1984.
They enjoyed traveling in thier motor home visiting Oklahoma, Texas, Ohio, Nebraska, Alaska, Washington and California.
Survivors include: Wife: Helen Smith of Scappoose; Sons: Larry Smith of St. Helens; Dennis Smith of Sitka, Alaska; 2 Sisters: Betty Jean Frazier of Sydney, Ohio and Barbara Campbell of Medina, Ohio; 4 grandchildren; Gary Smith, Julie Ann Smith, Candy Ann Smith, Cindy Scott; 3 great-grandchildren: Jacob Hillsinger, Katlynn Scott, Tawny Smith.
Viewing & Visitation: 2-5 Friday & Funeral Service Saturday, August 28, 2010 at 11:00 AM both at Columbia Funeral Home
Committal service & interment: Columbia Memorial Gardens Cemetery-Scappoose.
