Lois Peterson
July 12, 1932 – February 11, 2015
Lois Maurine Stile Peterson, 82, of Columbia City, went to be with the Lord on February 11, 2015, following a brief illness.
Mrs. Peterson was born in San Francisco, California on July 12, 1932, to Victor Elsworth Stiles and Audrey Maurine (Johnson) Stiles. She married Robert Peterson, Sr. on September 10, 1954, in San Carlos, California and raised three sons while living in the Bay area and Sacramento. When Mrs. Peterson retired in 1989, she was a senior supervisor adjustor for Commercial Union Assurance in Sacramento, California. The couple moved to Vancouver, Washington in 1989, then to Columbia City in 1995.
Mrs. Peterson’s hobbies included sewing, reading, and cooking. A lifelong Christian and a prayer warrior, she was a beloved leader in Women’s Ministry at Warren Community Fellowship. Mrs. Peterson generously shared her faith with others. She was a friend to all, and extended her gifts of exhortation, encouragement, and hospitality.
Mrs. Peterson is survived by her husband Robert, Sr. and sons; Randy R. (Belinda) Whitney of Clayton, Washington, Robert R. Jr. of Columbia City, Oregon, and Jeffrey S. of Paso Robles, California; brother, Clair Edward “Skipper” Stiles; grandchildren; Eric Whitney, Crystelle (Matt) Know, Rory Whitney, Jeffrey (Juri) Peterson, Jr., and Heather Peterson. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Alexis Peterson, Brody Belcher, Sean Peterson, Maia Peterson, Micaiah Knox, Josiah Knox, Katy Knox, and Julie Whitney, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, June Strong and Carol J. Stiles.
Funeral Services will be held at Warren Community Fellowship on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Cary Wacker and the Rev. John Wecks officiating. Arrangements were handled by Columbia Funeral Home of St.Helens, Oregon.
