Lonny Gene Friberg, "The Yacht Doctor" died on March 18, 2008 in a car accident on Cornelius Pass Rd. and Highway 30.
Lonny was born on July 4, 1945 to John Friberg and Jeannette Ecklund Friberg in Astoria, Oregon. The family resided in Chinook, Washington.
He attended Chinook Elementary, graduation from Ilwaco High School in 1963.
He married Beverly Brasmer on August 8, 1969 in Vancouver, Washington. The couple lived in the Portland area until 1979 when they moved to Scappoose, Oregon.
He was well known as the "The Yacht Doctor" as he made his living repairing and painting yachts and boats. He was an avid car and racing enthusiast, and enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family.
His brother Stanley, his mother and his father, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife Beverly, his children Erika and Lyndsey and their husbands Andrew and Luke, as well as his sisters Debbie Ceccanti and Joanne Leech and her husband Geno, many nieces and nephews and extended family, and his loyal canine companion Miles.
