Loretta "Sally" Schmit's Obituary
Loretta (Sally) Schmit passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on August 27, 2018. Sally was born in Scappoose, Oregon to John and Mary Vanderwerf on September 9, 1932. She was one of six children. She attended St. Mary’s Academy for girls in Portland, Oregon. She married Albert Schmit on December 30. 1951. Together they had four children, which they raised on their farm in Warren. Sally was a devoted wife and mother and enjoyed being a homemaker and grandmother. Sally loved to play cards especially pinochle and bingo. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years. She is survived by her brother John (Judy) Vanderwerf of Seattle, Washington, her children Carolyn of Gaston, Oregon, Randy of Christmas Valley, Oregon, Dave (Becky) of Warren, Oregon and Toni (Greg) Nelson of Warren, Oregon. Two grandsons, and one great grandson, also numerous nieces and nephews.
