Lorraine Aucourt of St. Helens passed away August 2017 at the age of 88. Lorraine was born to George and Catherine Ferguson, in Butte, Montana. She and her brother George grew up on their farm and attended a one room school in the Deer Lodge valley and graduated from Powell County High School. She continued her education at St. Patrick’s School of Nursing in Missoula. She worked as a Registered Nurse in Idaho, at Providence Hospital in Seattle, Warm Springs State Hospital and Bess Kaiser as a Pediatric Intensive Care Nurse. She retired in 1985.
Lorraine married George Aucourt in Seattle and were married until his passing in 1996. They finally settled in St. Johns in 1964, Lorraine then moved to Columbia County in 1997.
Lorraine has been a member of St Catherines Catholic Church of Seattle, the Assumption Catholic Church of Portland, St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church of Scappoose, and St. Frederic Catholic Church of St. Helens. She spent a great deal of her time volunteering with St. Johns Meals on Wheels, Loaves and Fishes in Portland, the Columbia County Food Bank, the Senior Center and Women’s Center. In 2014, she was Columbia County My Fair Lady Princess.
Lorraine is preceded in death by her husband George, her son Vincent, her granddaughter Melinda and her brother Father George.
She is survived by her son Glen (Laura), her daughter Judith (Maurice) and a daughter in law Dena, grandchildren Jason (Hilary), Vincent G., great grandchildren Nathan, Lucas, Miya, Jocelynne, Lilly, Emily and Victoria.
A Mass will be held at St. Frederic Catholic Church on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 11:00 am with a reception to follow.
