Obituary for Madha Lola Messinger Sorber
Nov. 2, 1920 – Feb. 5, 2014
Madha Messinger was born November 2, 1920, in Moro County, Oregon. Madha was an only child and raised by her grandparents. Madha married Arthur Sorber on November 2, 1938 in St. Helens. Art and Madha enjoyed a long and wonderful life together. Art spent time in the Navy and when he returned, he and Madha raised 4 children living in Long Beach and Ilwaco, Washington. They also lived in Van Nuys and Klamath, California and moved and settled in St. Helens, Oregon. They spent time in Klamath during the big flood of 1964 and watched the Megler bridge in Astoria connecting Oregon and Washington in Astoria. Madha was a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker spending as much time with all of them when she was not cooking and baking in the kitchen. She was pre-deceased by her loving husband Arthur who passed in 2004, as well as their son David who passed away in 1970. She is survived by her children Lalien, Norman, and Paul; grandchildren Alan, Joshua, Matthew, Nolan, Rose, Jessica, David, & Kyle; great-grandchildren, Heather, Ruby and Carter; and great-great grandchildren, Seth, Andriana and Danyol. Funeral Service: Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Columbia Funeral Home Private Interment: Yankton Hillcrest Cemetery.
