Marc Leon Adams' Obituary
Marc Leon Adams was born April 17, 1949 to E.O. and Louise Adams in Portland, Oregon.
He graduated from Tigard High School in 1969 an soon after enlisted in the Navy. He started his active duty April 21, 1969 and was soon shipped off to Vietnam where he served three tours. He was released from active duty on March 16, 1973. Marc was very proud to be a Vietnam Vet.
Marc passed his electrical exam in 1974 and like his father and grandfather before him it became his lifelong trade.
His first job after being released from active duty was at Northwest Marine Iron works. He worked there from 1973 to 1986. From there he went to work for The Port of Portland 1986 to 1989. In 1989 Marc was offered a job at Boise Cascade in St. Helens and worked there until he retired in March of 2005.
It was during his time at Boise that Marc met and married Lori. He would say that she was the love of his life. Marc loved the outdoors, fishing, and hunting were a passion for him. He shared so many good times with friends during his fishing and hunting trips. He also loved to work with wood; Marc always had a vision of a new project in the works.
After retirement Marc and Lori traveled south in the winter and took several other trips abroad, fulfilling a dream they shared together.
Marc was a long-standing member of the IBEW Local #48 with 36 years vested. He was also a member of the Elks.
Marc passed away July 3, 2009 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland.
He is survived by his wife; Lori, daughters Angela and Aimee from his first marriage. Stepdaughters; Angela Windsor and Amber Balcuns, stepsons; Elijah and Ian Balcuns. His grandchildren Allie Balcuns and Talese Manumalo also survive him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Columbia Funeral Home in St. Helens on July 18, 2009 at 1:00 PM. All of his family and friends are welcome to gather at the family residence at 3:00 PM following the service.
