Margaret M. Sturm was born on May 1, 1913 in Los Angeles, CA. to Roscoe & Lulu West Maddux.
She died at a St. Helens nursing home on February 2, 2011 at the age of 97.
Private family gathering will be held at a later date.
Margaret attended and graduated from Kern County High School in Bakersfield, CA. in 1930, she went on to receive her Masters degree in Science from Cal State University.
She was married to Curtis C. Sturm in 1931 in Bakersfield, CA., he preceded her in death in 1956.
She worked at the San Jose Library until she was age 62.
Margaret lived in Bakersfield until 1990 when she moved to St. Helens to be closer to her daughter.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church, St. Helens Garden Club and St. Helens Library. Her interests included gardening and animals.
Survivors include: Son Curtis C. Sturm, Jr. Glenna of Bakersfield, CA.; Daughter: Margaret Wilson James of St. Helens; 7 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren.
