Mariano Agoun Taijeron's Obituary
Mariano Agoun Taijeron was born on April 27, 1939 in Merizo, Guam to Geronimo and Esther Santos Agoun Taijeron.
He died at his home in St. Helens on December 8, 2013 at the age of 74.
Mariano served U.S. Navy in Vietnam. He retired from NMCB 3 following an 11 month deployment in Guam in February of 1977. He spent a total of 20 years in the service. Soon after, he joined the copier industry as a repair man for copiers and fax machines.
He married Magdalena R. Rojas in Guam. He was a resident of Ventura County (Oxnard, California) for 35 years, residing in St. Helens, Oregon since 2005.
Mariano was a member of St. Frederic Catholic Church in St. Helens. His interests included family, friends & food.
Mariano was preceded in death by his mother, Esther; fathers, Geronimo and Dewey; son, Jerome, grandson, Gilbert; brother, Ray; and sister Susie.
Survivors include his wife, Magdalena; children: Gilbert, Robert, Barbara (Jose), and Roland; siblings: Rufina, Evelyna, Rosa, Wesley, Margaret, Anthony and Jerry; in-laws: Manuel, Maria, Annie, Ramon, and Joseph; numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
Visitation is from 9 til 5 pm and Rosary at 7:00 PM, Monday, December 16, 2013 at Columbia Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at 10:00 AM at St. Frederic Catholic Church. Military Honors and a committal service will follow at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
