Obituary of Marion Corneilius Turber
Private services will be held at a later date for Marion C. Turber, Mrs. Turber passed away at Scappoose, December 5th. She was 90.
Born January 18, 1920 in Brooklyn, New York to Joseph and Carrie Downs Whitton, she was one of fourteen children. She graduated from Girl's Commercial High School in Brooklyn, New York. She married her first husband, Jack Ray who preceded her in death and later married Ted Turber, again preceded her in death.
Marion worked for the San Bernardino County Committee for Employment of the Handicapped during the 1970's and retired in 1975. Marion was avid in the Bunka community, a Japanese form of punch embroidery, taught and even had a booth on Tualatin Valley Highway selling her crafts. She has lived in the St. Helens area for the last 11 years. Marion was a member of Sunset Park Community Church.
She is survived by her children; Kathrynann Heywood of Rapid City, South Dakota, Jay Ray of Wills Point, Texas and Madelyn Kennedy-Cadoreth of St. Helens, 11 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great Great Grandchildren. Preceded in death by her daughter Carol Merrick.
