Marion I. Eacret's Obituary
Marion I. Eacret was born on March 25, 1916 in Seligman, Missouri to Clarence & Myrtle Keith Eacret.
He died in a Hillsboro Rehabilitation Center on February 11, 2008 at the age of 91.
Marion was educated in Missouri went into the Army from November of 1943 until December of 1948. He moved to Scappoose from LaCygne, Kansas in 1951 moving back to Kansas in 1973.
He was married the first time in the Late 1930's to Wanda Hickerson, 2nd marriage in 1943 to Betty Wheeler and a 3rd to Evelyn Clark in 1958, he was preceded in death by all three wives.
While living in Oregon he worked in maintenance at the Esco Steel Foundry and as a logger and a deputy sheriff. While living in Kansas he was also a deputy sheriff, a rancher and county work crew.
He was a member of the Moose, Masons, VFW and the Eagles and his interests included anything mechanical-tractors, engines, ranching and riding Harley Davidson motorcycles.
Survivors include: Children: Treva Smith of Hillsboro; Darrel Eacret of Newberg; Connie Abbe of Bucoda, WA.; Robert Hickerson of New Mexico; Kirby Eacret of LaPine, OR.; Kitty Bowers of Scappoose; Tom Dews; Sisters: Sylvia Huford & Mae Smith both of Kansas City, Missouri; numerous grandchildren & great grandchildren; preceded in death by 2 stepchildren: Mike Dews, Carolyn O'Connor.
Viewing & Visitation: 9-5 Thursday, Funeral Service: Friday, February 15, 2008 at 10:30 AM both at Columbia Funeral Home
Committal service & vault interment: Columbia Memorial Gardens Cemetery-Scappoose, OR.
