Born in Portland, Oregon to Marion Grant and Verna Carol Allen Lamper, she was the elder of two children. Marjorie graduated from Franklin High School in 1955 and on July 3rd of the same year she married her high school sweetheart, James Livingston. From this marriage they had two children. Marjorie and James stayed in the Portland area opening and managing a hamburger restaurant in St. John's called, The Big Nickel Hamburger's. In 1969 they moved to their current home just south of Scappoose. Marjorie loved her gardens, spend hours trimming and pruning her flowers. At one time she had over 300 rose bushes. And she loved animals; cats, dogs you name it. She was a great contributor to the humane societies. As her daughter said, mom loved shopping, or "Grazing" as Susan described it. Marjorie hunted for the "good deal". Her greatest love was her grandchildren.
Marjorie is survived by her husband; Jim, daughter; Susan and her husband Dan Norvald of Scappoose, grandchildren; James G. Livingston, David Norvald, Anton Livingston and Derek Norvald, brother; Michael Lamper of Hillsboro, Oregon. She is preceded by her son James J. Livingston in 1994.
