Marjorie E. Estlund's Obituary
Marjorie E. Estlund was born on October 4, 1923 in Brighton, Oregon to Leo & Elizabeth Skogen Estlund.
She died at a Portland hospital on August 8, 2009 at the age of 85.
Her family had moved to Portland and she attended Parkrose grade school until 1937 when they moved to Scappoose where she attended and graduated from Scappoose High School in 1941.
She entered the data processing field in December of 1942 and worked for Willamette Iron & Steel shipyards until the end of the war. After 8 months in Seattle, WA. she moved to Louisville, Kentucky for 4 years. There she met and married Jack Hymrod in December of 1948 and in 1950 came back to Oregon. They lived in Scappoose for a time before moving to Columbus, Ohio in 1956. They divorced in 1963 and she returned to Scappoose to work at Physicians & Surgeons hospital in data processing until April of 1986 when she retired. She continued to lived on her parents farm and enjoyed retirement after 45 years of working.
She was a member of the Ladies of the Moose Lodge, League of Women Voters, Grace Lutheran Church, Scappoose Senior Center and the Scappoose Historical Society.
