Martin Andreas Koch
November 24, 1954 – February 19, 2015
Martin A. Koch of Scappoose, Oregon died February 19, 2015 at age 60. He was born November 24, 1954 to Daniel and Hope (Johnson) Koch in Sacramento, California. He graduated from Vernonia High School with the class of 1973.
Martin served in the United States Navy from 1973 – 1979. On August 27, 1993 Martin married Carol Rushing in St. Helens, Oregon. He worked as a truck driver for Daniel E. Koch Inc. He was a member and past Master of Holbrook Masonic Lodge #30 in Forest Grove, a member of Royal Arch Masons Lodge #37 in Forest Grove, a past Patron of St. Helens Order of Eastern Star Mizpah Chapter #30, an advisor for Pacific Chapter of the Order of DeMolay and received a DeMolay Legion of Honor Medal, a Past Royal Patron of the Order of Amaranth Mizpah Rose Chapter, a member of Columbia Chapter Lodge #32 in St. Helens. He attended the Christian Church of St. Helens. Martin also enjoyed steam engine trains and model trains, he was an avid sci-fi reader.
He is survived by his wife Carol Koch, parents; Daniel and Hope Koch, step-children; Debra and Robert Chase and Danny Oltmanns, brothers; Karl Koch and Matthew and Vivian Koch, grandchildren; Caleb and Brianna and his nieces and nephews; Charlotte and Shane Close their son Trevan, Nicole and Joey Gilbert, and David Koch.
A Memorial Service will be held February 28, 2015 at 10:00 am at the Christian Church of St. Helens, 185 S. 12th Street.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Mizpah Chapter of OES - PO Box 492, Scappoose, OR 97056 and will be forwarded to the Cancer Research Fund.
