Marven L. Sprague's Obituary
Marven Sprague was the first of four born to Irven E. & Sadie C. Adnson Sprague on July 20, 1921 in Des Moines, Iowa.
He moved to South Bend, Indiana, then moved to attend schools and graduated from Rhododendron High Schollin Anacortes, WA. in the class of 1939. His year book's ambition was to be a Navigator; hobby, swimming.
Marven was in the US Navy during World War II as a Quarter Master in Navigation. He excelled in Algerbra, Geometry, and trigonomotry. He arrived at Pearl Harbor about ten days after the bombing and everything was still on fire and smoking.
His passion was fishing, he not only loved the sport he loved eating what he caught. He went fishing with so many people including his wife and family. He also taught his son to fish.
Marven married Florence E. Alexander in April of 1960. He raised two stepsons: Bobby & Jim and a son of thier own, Dean. Florence passed away in August of 1995. Since then he has traveled to Rome and the Virgin Islands.
He enjoyed ballroom dancing and spent countless hours working for the Scappoose Senior Center and volunteering to help others who needed assistance.
Survivors include: Son: Dean Judy Sprague; 2 stepsons: Bobby Trina Eutsler; Jimmie DenniseEutsler; 2 sisters: Erma Snyder & Doris Cowden; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 3 nieces & 1 nephew.
Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.
