Mary A. Carpenter's Obituary
Mary A. Carpenter was born on January 12, 1910 in Rosston, OK. to Photos & Anna Sinclair Connet.
She died at a St. Helens care center on December 18, 2006 at the age of 96.
She was educated in Laverne, OK. and she married Clifford Carpenter on October 8, 1927 in Buffalo, OK. They moved to Idaho in 1929, Portland in 1941, Delena, OR. in 1945, Rainier in 1964 and St. Helens in 1979 until present.
She was a Salesclerk for the Hardware store in Rainier from 1956-1975 when she retired. After she retired they traveled all over the U.S. They spent thier winters in Yuma, AZ. starting in 1985 until 2001.
She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in St. Helens. She enjoyed poetry, needlework, scrapbooking and putting together picture albums.
Survivors include: Husband: Clifford Carpenter of St. Helens; Children: Gene Carpenter of St. Helens; Don Carpenter of Port Angeles, WA.; Clifford Carpenter of Portland, OR.; Zolene Vaage of McMinnville, OR.; 19 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces & nephews; preceded in death by a son: Alvin in '04; granddaughter: Joyce in '91; great grandson: J.C. in '04; 2 brothers, 2 sisters.
Celebration of Life: Friday, December 29, 2006 at 11:00 AM at Grace Baptist Church-St. Helens.
Private interment: Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery-Portland
