Mary E Pugh's Obituary
Mary was born on May 30, 1933 in Louisville, Kentucky, to Aloysius and Frances Hoffmann Meisner. She died on April 28, 2006 in Portland at the age of 72.
As a young girl she moved from Kentucky to California to live with her mother. There she met her husband to be, Fredrick Childers. They were married in California in 1952.
They moved to Oregon in 1953 where they raised their five children. Fredrick died in 1994 and a few years later, Mary married Dan Pugh who also preceded her in death.
Mary was an avid reader, enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and working in the garden. She also crocheted and made blankets for all the grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her sons: Bill Childers of Deer Island; Bob Childers of Scappoose; daughters: Jenny Childers of Long Beach, WA; and Trudy Newell of Las Vegas, NV. Two brothers: Maurice Meisner of Cocoa Beach, Florida; and Al Meisner of Red Bluff, California; and two sisters Audrey Kupper of Louisville, Kentucky and Sister Margaret Meisner of Little Rock, Arkansas. 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two husbands and her son Jim.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 6 at Columbia Funeral Home.
