Mary Jane Baresh's Obituary
Mary Jane Ford Baresh was born on January 26, 1936 in Hood River, Oregon to Isaac and Hilda Ford. She and her family later moved to Goble, where she grew up graduating from Rainier High School. While being a true native Oregonian, she spent all of her adult life in Columbia County; first in St. Helens and then in Scappoose. Much of her working life was spent working at the Columbia District Hospital; first as an aid in the nursing home and later as the PBX operator in the front office.
In 1969 she married Henry Baresh and they celebrated their 42nd anniversary in September.
Some of the things that she most enjoyed doing were attending her granddaughter Morgin's activities; traveling to Europe, Hawaii, Alaska, Mexico and the Oregon coast; and attending the monthly hospital retirees luncheon.
She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Henry; daughter Liz Cupp, granddaughter Morgin Cupp and son-in-law Dave Cupp; daughter Cathy Stephens, granddaughters Miranda Thomas and Cherie Broadway; brother G. Michael Ford and sister-in-law JoAnn Ford; 3 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 9:00am to 5:00pm on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Columbia Funeral Home in St. Helens.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Scappoose, Oregon with Rosary at 9:30am and the funeral mass starting at 10:00am. Interment will follow the mass at Columbia Memorial Gardens.
The family wishes donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the Humane Society in her name.
