Mary Kathryn Meyers' Obituary
Mary Kathryn “Kathy” Meyers passed away at her home in Scappoose, Oregon on October 7, 2022. She was born on January 17, 1941, in Yuba City, California to her parents Hershel and Lula Hall.
Kathy graduated from Yuba City High School in 1958. She met James Edward Meyers, and they married on July 17, 1961, in Yuba City. They were married for 54 years and had two children, Cindy, born in 1962, and Aaron, born in 1965.
Kathy was involved in many community activities, including being a Sunday school teacher, volunteering for Chapel on Wheels, the Scappoose senior center, and the Scappoose public library.
Being a member of Creekside Baptist Church, Kathy enjoyed sending various cards to her church family. She was active in the church and appreciated by everyone. She enjoyed reading her scripture, writing letters, and calling people to check on and pray for them.
Kathy is survived by her two children, Cindy and Aaron; her three grandchildren; and her four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jim, in 2015.
There will be a funeral service on October 14, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Columbia Funeral Home in St. Helens, Oregon. A reception will immediately follow the service, and a short graveside will follow afterwards at Columbia Memorial Gardens in Scappoose, Oregon. If desired, donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Habitat for Humanity in St. Helens, Oregon.
